Matthew and Isabella: Our Wedding - June 24, 2012

It has been a while darlings, mainly because the last few months have been busy wedding planning months. Not only for other gorgeous ladies getting married, but also for mine and Matthews wedding this summer.
After a month spent on a honeymoon to Montana and Banff + moving + house hunting + job hunting, I can finally sit down and share all the fun details of our day!
We really wanted the day to be relaxed but elegant, it needed to be "us", fun but elegant. Our venue was a beautiful antique estate that is located near St. Helena and is currently a museum named Elmshaven, it was perfect. It had charm, beautiful landscaping, open spaces, and of course the house which was a perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Taking from the antique feel of the venue we put a vintage/rustic spin on things without getting fussy.

 With a little bit of moss, splashes of color, a touch of gold, and of course, the flowers, we were set. Without further adieu, enjoy this lovely photos taken by the wonderful Robin Jolin!

 My wedding gown was handmade by my wonderful mother, it was inspired by a BHLDN dress with a few differences. The dress was made of 100% silk with layers of silk chiffon "scarves" to create a whimsical floating feel.

 I wore yellow and gold Seychelles, and my engagement ring which was an antique heirloom.

 I decided to wear a beaded headband from Anthropologie instead of a veil.

 My handsome Matthew! I just had to add a touch of Jade Trachelium (fuzzy green) to his boutonniere...

 Robin captured me doing my florist thing even in a wedding dress, spraying those bouquets with my favorite "stay happy" formula!

I took a guestbook from Michaels and replaced the ugly decoration with an engagement photo and some yellow grosgrain ribbon to match the programs.

 My nephew Chase with his sign, my sister and matron of honor made it on photoshop and added a dash of gold glitter and some hand dyed ribbon my mom made. (My sister also made is tie, to cute!)

 My bouquet was composed of white Stock, Tuberose, maroon Dahlias, green Roses, Craspedia, purple Spray Roses, Sword ferns, and Jade Trachelium

 The guys ensembles were from Express, including Matthews suit.

We went with mexican food for the reception (tamales, fresh salsa's, rice and beans, and guacamole and chips) It was delicious and everyone was full! The lady who cooked for us also made a wonderful Hibiscus tea along with lemonade.

Our foxes! Our cake table was decorated with ribbon streamers and a gold glitter heart hanging in the center. We opted for multiple cakes instead of a typical wedding cake (especially since Matthew is gluten intolerant, ours needed to be GF)

 One of the head table arrangements, the table vases were from Anthropologie, the moss vases were from a floral supply store.

 The favors were honey (my brother is a beekeeper), and the toppers  were hand dyed silk from the remnants of my dress

 One of the ceremony arrangements got moved to the reception entrance table where we had postcards for the guests to fill out with questions like "where should we go on our next road trip?". The moss ampersand was made by my brother in law and sister.

It was a perfect day because I was marrying the most wonderful man in the world.

P.S  Even though my sister and I stayed up till 2am the night before arranging all the flowers, it was entirely worth it!
