Jen & Eamon

I met Jen and Eamon at a wedding faire in January of this year, and they were looking for simple floral touches for their wedding party. They chose to have an intimate garden wedding at the grooms parents house, the spot was perfect for an August wedding with a green carpet of grass and Eucalyptus shading the ceremony and reception areas. Jen wanted a mainly green bouquet to go along with the variety of greens they had chose as the colors. She loved the idea of having a lot of texture in her bouquet, it was a wonderful piece to get to design for her.

Jen's bouquet consisted of lime Button Mums, white Mini Callas, white Tulips, white and yellow Freesia, Tuberose, Equisetum, Hosta and Ti leaves, and touches of Scabiosa pods and white Veronica. The stems were to be wrapped in lace from her mothers dress, so I suggested an underwrapping of gold satin ribbon with gold pearl pins to enhance the lace and accent her gold jewelry. Love!

Jen's mother requested a type of decoration for the reserved family seats, the result was simple bunches of Boxwood greenery with white and green satin ribbons.

The bridesmaids bouquets were sweet arrangements of white Mini Callas and Tulips and wrapped in white satin ribbon. The boutonnieres were a matching white Mini Calla, while the Eamon's boutonniere had the addition of a Scabiosa pod, Freesia blooms and a touch of gold satin ribbon to coordinate with Jen's bouquet.

Best of wishes to both of you, Jen and Eamon!

Michelle & Kenton

I first met Michelle at a January bridal faire where we talked about her wedding colors and and flowers. Soon to follow were many emails back and forth planning her beautiful flowers from the towering head table arrangements of white Dendrobium Orchids and 21 table arrangements, down to the maid of honors hair accessory and 19 boutonnieres. Michelle was a dream to work with, always her cheerful upbeat self!

Kenton and Michelle decided to have their beautiful wedding at Barra Winery in Redwood Valley, Ca. (The event planner there is a sweetheart!) with the ceremony outside under the oak tree's, and reception inside the winery. A big Thank You to Larsen's Photography for the gorgeous photos!

Michelle wanted a bouquet that was mostly white, but still had her fuchsia and apple colors in it. I suggested a combination of Dolce Vita Roses which are a lovely white rose with fuchsia tipped petals, wired Cymbidium Orchids, Freesia and bright green Hypericum Berries collared in Salal. It was the perfect amount of white, fuchsia and green! To match his bride, Kenton wore a boutonniere of a single Cymbidium Orchid with white Freesia and touches of Hypericum - The perfect boutonniere for a dashing groom!

The 10 bridesmaids carried bouquets of lime Spider Chrysanthemums with white & fuchsia Roses collared in greenery and wrapped in apple green satin ribbon. Such fun colors!

Congratulations to Kenton and Michelle!

Arianna & Mike - Alice in Wonderland

Arianna and Mike's wedding was held at the Red Barn Ranch venue in Hopland, Ca. The perfect location  for an Alice in Wonderland theme wedding. The venue is tucked away a few hills south of the town of Hopland, complete with a red barn, a matching separate bar, and a well groomed grass where Arianna and Mike said their I Do's. (The venue also has a small babbling brook that flows by during the spring).
When I first spoke with Arianna she told me about the theme they were going for, and that she would really like to have turquoise and dark purple flowers, only she wasn't sure where to find them. Flower dye to the rescue! That dilemma fixed, we moved on to the details which included Ace of Hearts boutonnieres, vintage keys for the bouquets, teacup vases the bride found and a pocket watch...

More dyed roses and the Mad Hatters top hat on the cake made by Costeaux Bakery in Healdsburg, Ca. I loved how the brides creativity showed in all the details throughout the wedding, from the toadstools around the reception area to the glasses that said "Drink Me".

The Bridal Bouquet included dyed Roses of dark purple, turquoise and dark blue, with natural lavender Roses, dyed Dendrobium Orchids and white Freesia.

The handle was wrapped in silk satin ribbon from one of my favorite shops in San Francisco, and the over wrapping was lace from the brides mothers wedding dress. Quite a beautiful touch.

 Pin and lace detail

The bridesmaid bouquets consisted of 4 white Roses and 3 hand dyed turquoise Roses, finished with deep purple satin ribbon and a vintage skeleton key. The toss bouquet was mixture of natural white and lavender Roses and dyed purple roses, wrapped in turquoise satin ribbon.

One of the lovely bridesmaids and her bouquet.

The grooms White Rabbit boutonniere with a dyed Dendrobium Orchid, white Freeisa, greeery and a miniature pocket watch with silk satin ribbon.

The groomsmen boutonnieres were a single dyed purple Rose with greenery and a small scale Ace of Hearts.

The flower girls basket wrapped in purple and turquoise satin ribbon and filled with white and dyed turquoise rose petals.

Hope you enjoyed the photos, have a great weekend!

Annie & Mario

A few weekends ago I had the privilege of designing the flowers for Annie and Mario's outdoor wedding at the Nelson Family Vineyards. I really enjoyed working with Annie and her wonderful mother-in-law in coming up with ideas for her theme of yellow and brown. The end result was an Italian countryside look that suited the bride and groom perfectly, both being Italian.

Annie's bouquet was a lovely combination of roses, button chrysanthemums, sunflowers, freesia, chocolate cosmos and rosemary. (one of my favorite bouquets!)

Mario's boutonniere was three sprigs of golden wheat paired with button chrysanthemums and freesia, and wrapped in chocolate velvet.

This is the custom ring bearer's pillow I made for the wedding, it is white silk with a chocolate velvet ribbon and bow. Too cute!

The ceremony arrangements were a combination of the signature sunflowers, paired with spider mums, bells of ireland, hanging millet and curly willow branches to add some height. I loved the country look the galvanized tin market vases gave the arrangements. They were set on either side of the ceremony area on wine barrels and later used at the reception.

The head table spray arrangement included the above flowers along with roses, yellow and white button chrysanthemums, rosemary, italian oregano and chocolate cosmos.

Color Splashes!

Splendid fun with some stunning orchids I couldn't resist at the market when I picked up flowers for a wedding a couple weekends ago. This arrangement was for a friend of mine at Pompadora's Salon in Ukiah, Ca. for her salon party featuring the newest hair products. Lily is an amazing stylist, so if you are looking for an upbeat, professional stylist in Mendocino County she just may be your lady! Perfect for weddings as well. Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Black, White and Gold!

An arrangement I did for a photographer friend of mine for her grand opening of the new studio in downtown Ukiah. Her theme was black and white, with a touch of gold which I was unaware of while putting this together. It just so happened that I chose to put Craspedia in the arrangement along with the lush combination of Star of Bethlehem and Black Knight Scabiosa, Perfection!

French Country

A lovely french country style arrangement I did for a friend who owns a wonderful boutique, Habitat in Ukiah, Ca. I love the soft and oh-so-fragrant feel it has. I combined Peonies, Delphiniums, garden Spray Roses, Rosemary, Jasmine and Teatree branches, perfect!

Hope it brightened your day,

Isabella

Purple Blooms and Feathers

I love Iris', and I don't think they are ever used to their full potential, so I did a couple bouquets to show them off a bit!

This is a bouquet I made on a whim mainly of blue and purple Iris' and purple hyacinths. I really enjoy the accent of wired hyacinth blooms hanging down in the front.

This is one of my favorite "snazzy" boutonniere, hand wired hyacinth blooms, a single yellow spray rose, rose hips and of course, the peacock feather. All wrapped in a rich blue grosgrain ribbon. The perfect blend of formality with personality.

This is the matching bridal bouquet of purple Hyacinths, Iris', bright purple Tulips, yellow Freesia to pick up the touches of yellow in the Iris', and peacock feathers. One of my all time favorite purple and blue looks.

Elise + Mark

This is one of my favorite weddings from a few years back. The couple decided to go for a very finished look for their September wedding, and used red as their theme color. Perfect for stunning photographs! The bride adored mango mini callas and green cymbidium orchids, which had to be specially ordered in bulk from Ecuador. A lush combination of the callas and cymbidium orchids paired with green hydrangeas, deep red roses, velvety coxcomb, red dahlias and accents of pears, pomegranates, and grapes (drawing in the local Napa flavor!) created a stunning result.

The entrance gates were hung with extra large fresh flower wreaths accented with 2" grosgrain ribbon.

The ceremony decor was a combination of two large urns of the previously mentioned flowers with the addition of Bells of Ireland for height. The aisle runner was a carpet of red rose petals with a monogram of white rose petals in the letter H.

Red silk covered Tussie mussie's lined the aisle on each chair.

The bride and grooms table was different than the rest of the tables, a low arrangement with a touch of white rested on their personal table.

The bride carried a simple but stunning bouquet of two dozen red roses, while the bridesmaids carried small bouquets of red dahlias, mango callas, and red roses. The boutonnieres were single mango callas.

Hope you enjoyed!
